Description: Polygon features representing the building rooflines and attributes of schools and other facilities and administrative sites used by Edmonton Public School Division. Features are designated by building class, that is, as either the main or an auxiliary building. Other attributes record the school/site name, EPSB and Alberta Education ID number, grade configuration, address, the year opened and closed, the school's/site's status (active, closed, leased, or used for EPSB programming or administration), and EPSB and City of Edmonton wards. Name, ID, and address values for auxiliary buildings are copied from the values for the closest main building feature. Year opened and closed values are not recorded for features classed as auxiliary buildings.
Polygons are based on a variety of sources, including georeferenced CAD drawings of school sites, City of Edmonton Open Data for building rooflines from 2017 (https://data.edmonton.ca/Geospatial-Boundaries/Building-Footprint/6n9r-ddf8) and 2019 (https://data.edmonton.ca/Geospatial-Boundaries/City-of-Edmonton-Rooflines-as-of-2019-/jpxi-a9a5), and City of Edmonton 2021 orthophotos (https://data.edmonton.ca/Thematic-Features/Orthophoto-Repository-2021/sgn7-pn83).
